Experiencing lagging or restricted access when using cloud real devices with no specific devices or limited store login options? WeTest’s exclusive cloud solution is here to help.
Public cloud technology has met the testing needs of numerous small and micro-enterprises as well as individuals. However, as customers delve deeper into usage, they encounter a range of new issues. In this article, we will provide answers to several common questions.
In recent years, with the rapid development of technologies like 5G and AI, cloud real devices have entered a true period of explosive growth. They not only seamlessly integrate with traditional devices but also offer innovative features such as cross-platform synchronization, efficient storage, and enhanced security.
Since its launch, WeTest’s Cloud Real Device service has gained a large user base and significant recognition. As one of the flagship products on the WeTest platform, it has also encountered a series of new issues as customers continue to use it. Here, we have summarized and addressed several common concerns raised by our public cloud customers:
WeTest’s exclusive custom real devices, which support customized ROMs, virtual cameras, virtual GPS, and root access, are not found.
Answer: The current exclusive custom real devices and simulated real devices on the platform are only available for the private cloud. Custom real devices cover various performance levels, including flagship, high-end, mid-range, and low-end, with different CPUs, core counts, memory, storage, resolutions, etc.
Unable to install apps, encountering signature errors or package upload errors.
Answer: For development version IPA packages, you can select “resign” as a unified option. If you download IPA packages from the App Store using third-party tools, please do not select the signing option. If you encounter issues with third-party tools like SuperSign, it is recommended to consult the respective tool’s support for relevant problems.
Some cloud real devices experience lagging.
Answer: The lagging of cloud real devices can be influenced by various factors, such as device status, customer network conditions (carrier networks), and the customer’s computer. If you have high-speed and user experience requirements, we suggest using the private cloud, which offers dedicated devices and advantages in terms of dedicated bandwidth.
The cloud real device library lacks specific devices like tablets.
Answer: The current public cloud library includes tablet devices, and top-level models are regularly updated to ensure forward-looking and effective real device testing. If you have a batch device testing requirement and cannot find a specific model or tablet device in the public cloud, we recommend using the private cloud, which supports accessing your own devices and procuring specific ones.
Can Apple devices support Apple ID and App Store login?
Answer: Public cloud Apple devices currently do not support user login with personal Apple IDs or App Store login. When testing applications, you can directly upload and install applications using the application management feature on the right side, without the need to download from the App Store.
While the public cloud meets the testing needs of many small and micro-enterprises as well as individuals, it also has inherent pain points. These include shared device pools, waiting for device resources, idle device resources due to poor task scheduling, potential security risks and privacy issues resulting from multiple organizations and users sharing the same cloud platform, and device performance degradation or instability caused by other users’ activities.
Therefore, WeTest’s private cloud solution has emerged and is gradually becoming the preferred choice for more and more enterprises and individual users. The WeTest private cloud solution builds powerful product capabilities from the perspectives of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, providing stable, secure, efficient, and streamlined cloud automation testing capabilities to users. The overall service stability can reach 99.9%, and we offer testing solutions in terms of compatibility, functionality, and performance, assisting in improving research and development testing efficiency.
